In the months leading up to March 2020, and as the restrictions of the pandemic took hold, I felt compelled to make boxes, looking at things contained, openings, within and without and the relationship between. With this simple placing of attention, they became a way for me to play with the idea of inhabitation, and the precariousness of being in the world.
I am continuing to explore expressions of being present within our places of dwelling, and to ourselves. We are not without essence in these times where there’s constriction – there is always that strive towards balance, towards having equilibrium in the moment.
